New Trailers of Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

These two new trailers of SquareEnix’s RPG powerhouses were first shown behind closed doors at their DKS1373 event last august. Now finally released to the public for your viewing pleasure and to further wet your appetite for more Final Fantasy awesomeness!

You can find the trailer of FFXIII here and FFversusXIII over here

If you ask me, I think the FFXIII trailer looks fantastic! Multiplatform or not, this game has EPIC written all over it. Despite most of the footages shown in the trailer are pre-rendered, the vibrant settings, the summons and the introduction of new characters really got me all excited. Plus, the last thirty seconds of footages are all in-game! It’s a bit sad though that FFXIII probably won’t make it to the US market until 2010. Us PS3 gamers who don’t know Japanese have to wait for the Xbox 360 port remember?

On the other hand, I was disappointed by the FFvsXIII trailer. Some of the scenes in the trailer have already been shown in the past. The new ones though strike me as uninteresting. Unlike the FFXIII trailer, I found very little in the FFvsXIII trailer to get all pumped up about. I don’t find androgynous adolescent males fooling around exciting and men in all black suits having a conference just come off as dull. This five minute trailer is just three minutes too long. Like the FFXIII trailer, the last twenty seconds of footages are in-game.

Halo 3: ODST(Recon)

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Formerly known as Halo 3: Recon, Halo ODST is the first Halo game that doesnt feature Master Chief. Instead, players take the role of a lone UNSC Soldier known as the “Rookie”. Unlike its previews installments, the new Halo was said to be a bit more gloomy and less cartoony. I guess Master Chief is just technically a living super hero since normal people see everything in a whole new different way. I mean ‘Come on man!’ who the fuckin hell wouldn’t be afraid of those sharky faces and plant like creatures?

Other reports say that the game is a lot more bloodier than its predecessors. Kinda like putting Gears of War in Halo. Just when you thought the Halo saga was over… here comes the rookie! (more…)
