SOCOM IS DEAD
Monday, January 12th, 2009
Well, it is according to one hardcore SOCOM fan who has created a video blog about why SOCOM: Confrontation is a technical mess. Oh and he hates Seth Luisi, the director of development of the SOCOM franchise… a lot. Below are a few videos from his blog. View these videos at your own discretion since the F-bomb gets thrown way too many times.
Patch 1.30 is already out and I happen to be downloading it as of this posting. Aside from my greatest concern being realized - the patch size is half a gig, yeesh - it seems patch 1.30 still has a few bugs that need to be ironed out. SOCOM fans have compiled a list of what have been fixed, what haven’t and a confirmation of which new feature works.
The 1.20 patch isn’t too shabby. It got the game working at an almost flawless pace, with little to no crashes after every play session, but it still crashes, which isn’t acceptable for a game being sold at retail price. The 1.30 patch promises to rectify this problem and get the game working at tip-top shape. Hit the link for more details about the release of patch 1.30.
