My Brief Experience in HOME

HOME, Sony’s fabled online community service has finally been released to the public. Despite its beta status and having a number of missing features, I think HOME succeeds at being what it was developed for and that is to simply function as a social network and nothing else. It isn’t as grand as Second Life but it does get gamers to congregate with each other.
Many critics have ignored HOME’s true purpose. Instead, they dismissed it for not being the be all and end all of online communities, citing the lack of promised features, the rather limited avatar customization and the clunky interface. Although I agree to an extent, I never found myself clamoring for any of these bells and whistles when the community itself is buzzing with life
