Tried all the fixes for no audio that you listed, and I still have no sound.
Perhaps I missed something, but none of my other games have this issue. I DLed it off Steam, so maybe there is an issue there.

Hey guys, i just DL prototype.. like others i want to try b4 buy, but i got the orange texture problem.. it isnt forced AA, i use Atitool and i put AA and AF on Application controlled and ingame i set it to 0.

so i don’t get it, why isn’t it working? my Graphics card is an ATI Radeon X1600, and i got an AMD athlon64 CPU.

help will be appreciated, thanks.

windows 7 users DO NOT USE THE SP TO RUN PROTOTYPE!

My game ran fine until i searched up about the crackling sound thing. I went on to change the bit rate and also used the XP SP3 to run it in. What i immediately found is that the frame rate suffered dramatically - making everything SLOW AS HELL!! - and when it loaded to the maind screen, i couldn’t start a new game or load any exisiting save files (it would just end with a black screen and have sound running).

But i unchecked the “Run this program in compatibility more for:” under properties, and now everything is back to normal. Maybe trying that before anything else, cauz i see alot of “cant load new game posts here”

I still dont know if the sound problem is fixed or not, but i guess a running game is better than one that doesnt.

Just forget it guy’s
It’s been months without a patch.
Their just collecting their money, after all thats the world we live in today.
All about the dollars an it doesn’t matter its US that pay’s the dollars.
Why not just post a big finger on the prototype website so the gamers know how they really think about us.

This is why ppl download games TRY BEFORE YOU BUY … if it’s a good game buy it, if its like prototype delete it………
hell they should pay the gamers for their waste of time, money an energy……
1: sound BAD
2: gameplay gets boring (doing the same shit over an over)
3: am running on a GTX285 2 gig an my res is weird not even 1280×1024 ??????
4: support ?????? what support??????
5: lag
6: grapics ?? i mean for a game with those specs it should look good but it doesn’t
explane this to me then why does a game as mass effect 2 looks beter, plays beter but needs only half the specs???????
In short : this game suxs big time an looks a bit like microsoft selling stuff that is not working fully because of the 65k bugs hehehe…..

Hi,
I tried all of the above to fix the black screen with sound only and nothing happens.
I checked the system requirements and I can’t remember my motherboard exactly but the requirements is 1,81 and I have over 2
I have 2 GB of Ram
and 512 MB graphics card
