Modder Attempts To Recreate Killzone 2 With CryEngine 2
Written by badguy001Over at the Crymod forum, a modder known as Atsest attempts to recreate the infamous 2005 CG rendered trailer of Killzone 2 using the CryEngine 2. But this isn’t a frame by frame and scene by scene reimagining of the trailer, there’s a lot of actual gameplay involved.
Just for the sake of comparison, the video below is the 2005 Killzone 2 trailer.
My two-cents:
For a mod that’s still early in development by one man, I think Atsest is doing a fantastic job in recreating that bridge scene. Alhough I highly doubt that it will look as good as the trailer, he pretty much nailed the atmosphere and the intensity of the trailer. Now if only he could replicate Killzone 2’s fantastic A.I. and the Helghast’s eerily beautiful death animations…
