Magna Carta Sequel Heading To Xbox 360
Written by badguy001
What is it with the Xbox 360 and JRPGs? Why does the least popular console in Japan get a lot of Japanese-centric games? First it’s Lost Odyssey, then Star Oceans: The Last Hope and now, the sequel to the atlus-published PS2 JRPG, Magna Carta has recently jumped into the 360 bandwagon too. I really have no idea how the Japanese gaming industry ticks. Anyway! Hit the link for more details.

Arstechnica reports:
Microsoft’s box has played host to just about every noteworthy JRPG this generation thus far, and it looks like yet another JRPG of old will find a new home on the system: Softmax has announced that a new Magna Carta game is coming to the Xbox 360.
Avid JRPG fans will remember the Atlus-published Magna Carta: Tears of Blood as a decent, visually-striking PS2 JRPG with a mostly-female cast and a strong strategic bent. The new Xbox 360 title, called Magna Carta: Crimson Stigma, is its sequel currently in development. Aside from that, though, little else is known: pricing information, potential release date, and any game play details have not yet been disclosed.
Well it seems that Microsoft is hellbent in penetrating the Japanese gaming market. And they seem to beĀ making some good progress — in getting the games that is. The gamers on the other hand, that’s a different story.

Well eventually if enough good games come out It’ll beat the PS3 at least. I mean, aside from White Knight Chronicles, which got snubbed by Famitsu, what good content aimed at Japanese gamers is there? Hell, even MGS4 was tinkered with to appeal to the Western gamer more.
Team ICO’s third game may be the last PS3 -only game they have up their sleeve, but will that be enough?

WKC sold pretty well in its first week of release. Definitely a lot better than how a lot of 360 jrpg exclusives performed in Japan.
And the PS3 also has Yakuza 3, which I’m really hoping for an English port. Oh and let’s not forget about the FFXIII demo that’s coming out exclusively for the PS3.
